Paper Moon Designs respects your privacy and understands that when you place an order with us, you are trusting us with personal information about both you and the person for whom the book is being created.
We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide our products and services, process and fulfil orders, communicate with customers and operate Paper Moon Designs.
This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we may collect, why we collect it, how it may be used and shared, and how we care for the information you provide.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with Paper Moon Designs, we may collect:

Order information, including the products you purchase and information relating to your order.
Personalisation information, including the name you would like printed on the book and the date, exact local time and place of birth required to calculate and create the personalised astrology content.
Recipient information, such as a recipient's name and delivery address when a book is purchased as a gift.
Photographs, where you choose to provide an image for inclusion in a personalised product.
Communications, including information you provide when contacting Paper Moon Designs with an enquiry, request or issue relating to an order.

3. Information About Babies and Children
Because Paper Moon Designs creates personalised products for babies and young children, some orders contain information relating to a child.
This information is collected for the purpose of creating and fulfilling the personalised product requested by the customer and managing the associated order.
Please only provide information about a child where you are authorised or otherwise entitled to provide that information for the purpose of ordering the personalised product.
A child's birth details or photograph will not be used by Paper Moon Designs for unrelated marketing or promotional purposes without appropriate permission.
4. How We Collect Information
Most personal information is provided directly by you when you:
place an order;
complete a personalisation or checkout form;
purchase or redeem a gift voucher;
contact Paper Moon Designs;
subscribe to communications, where offered; or
otherwise provide information through the website.
Some technical information may also be collected automatically by Squarespace when you visit or interact with the Paper Moon Designs website.

calculate the astrology required for your personalised book;

Payments made through the Paper Moon Designs website are processed using Squarespace Payments.

Paper Moon Designs does not intentionally collect or store complete credit or debit card numbers.

Paper Moon Designs does not sell or rent personal information.
We may provide limited personal information to trusted service providers where reasonably necessary to operate the business or fulfil your order. These may include providers involved in:
website hosting and ecommerce services;

professional printing and order fulfilment;

We aim to provide only the information reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

8. Printing and Fulfilment
Paper Moon Designs uses a professional third-party printing and fulfilment provider to produce and deliver personalised books.
To manufacture your book, the completed interior and cover PDF files are provided to the printing provider. These files contain the personalisation and content necessary to produce the finished book and may therefore include information such as the child's name, birth information and photograph where one forms part of the book.
Delivery information necessary to fulfil the order may also be provided to the printing and delivery providers involved.
Third-party service providers may retain information in accordance with their own privacy, security, legal and record-retention requirements.
9. Overseas Service Providers
Some of the technology, website, payment, printing, fulfilment or other service providers used by Paper Moon Designs may operate, process information or store information outside Australia.
As a result, personal information may in some circumstances be processed or stored overseas.
Paper Moon Designs takes reasonable care in selecting established third-party providers, but those providers handle information in accordance with their own privacy policies, security practices and legal obligations.
10. Cookies and Website Technology
The Paper Moon Designs website is hosted through Squarespace and may use cookies and similar technologies required for website functionality, ecommerce, security and operation of the site.
Paper Moon Designs does not currently use additional third-party analytics or advertising tracking tools.
If our use of analytics, advertising or other tracking technology changes in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated as appropriate.
11. Marketing Communications
If you choose to subscribe to Paper Moon Designs marketing communications, we may use the contact details you provide to send news, product information, special offers or other Paper Moon updates.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in the communication.
Communications necessary to manage an order, payment, delivery or customer-service enquiry are separate from marketing communications and may still be sent where necessary to provide the service you have requested.
12. Photographs
If you provide a photograph for inclusion in a personalised book, it will be used for the purpose of creating that product.
Providing a photograph for inclusion in a book does not give Paper Moon Designs permission to publish or use that photograph on its website, social media, advertising or other promotional material.
If Paper Moon Designs would like to share a photograph or other material that identifies or includes a child for promotional purposes, appropriate permission will be sought first.
13. How We Protect Your Information
Paper Moon Designs takes reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
Personalised production files are stored securely while they are required to create and fulfil an order.
We also use established third-party providers for services including website hosting, ecommerce, payment processing, printing and delivery.
However, no method of transmitting or storing information electronically can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
14. How Long We Keep Personalised Files
Paper Moon Designs retains its copies of personalised production files for approximately three months after successful delivery of the order.
This allows us to assist with any printing, delivery or replacement issue that may arise shortly after the book has been received.
After this three-month period, Paper Moon Designs will delete its copies of personalised production materials that are no longer reasonably required. This includes, where applicable:
personalised interior book files;
personalised cover files;
photographs supplied for inclusion in the book; and
other working files containing identifiable personalisation information.
This three-month deletion period applies to copies held by Paper Moon Designs. Third-party providers involved in website operation, payments, printing, fulfilment or delivery may retain information in accordance with their own policies and legal obligations.
Certain order, transaction, taxation, accounting and other business records may need to be retained for longer where reasonably necessary or required by law.
15. Accessing or Correcting Your Information
If you believe personal information held by Paper Moon Designs about you is incorrect, or you would like to request access to personal information we hold about you, please contact us.
We will take reasonable steps to respond to requests and correct inaccurate information where appropriate.
If you need to change birth or personalisation information relating to an active book order, please contact us as soon as possible. Changes may no longer be possible once the book has been completed or submitted for printing.
